Hsiang-Chun Lin (Taiwan), Postdoctoral Fellow at C4 Rice Center (C4C) on November 5. Reporting directly to Paul Quick, she generates a comprehensive understanding of C4 enzymes expressed in rice, identifying cell-specific gene expression, and the physiological analysis and crossing of transgenic lines. Her office is located at DL Umali Building, x2643. Rosalie San Antonio assists her at x2375.

George Cinconiegue, Jr. (Philippines), Senior Manager at Transport Services (TS) on November 5. He is responsible for delivering efficient transportation services to clients by effectively managing the Motorpool Dispatching Section (MPDS) and the Motor Vehicle Repair Shop (MVRS) of the Institute. His office is located at Service Building, x2603.

Meldwin Barcala (Philippines), Research Technician I at T.T. Chang Genetic Resources Center (TTC-GRC) on November 7. He ensures the long term conservation of rice genetic resources and the continued availability of high quality seeds for distribution through multiplication of conserved germplasm under screen house conditions. His office is located at NC Brady Building.

Kharla Vianca Mendez (Philippines), Researcher at Crop & Environmental Sciences Division (CESD) on November 16. She contributes to the implementation of CSISA II’s Objective 3 (high-yielding, heat-and water-stress tolerant rice varieties), with emphasis on yield potential traits. Her office is located at DL Umali Building, x2617.

Marie Claire Cinderella Custodio (Philippines), Senior Associate Scientist at Social Sciences Division (SSD) on November 21. She plays a key role in the development of IRRIs assessment of rice consumer preferences across Asia. She designs, tests, and implements face-to-face surveys of rice consumers in rural and urban settings to assess the range of decisions and choices made by rice consumers with respect to grain quality, price, etc. Her office is located at Drilon Hall, x2877.
